Derrick Henry Officially Lands On Injured Reserve
3 years agoThe Tennessee Titans officially placed running back Derrick Henry (foot) on Injured Reserve on Monday. Henry will undergo surgery on his foot on Tuesday that is expected to keep him out for six to 10 weeks. The Titans immediately signed veteran Adrian Peterson off the street, and he figures to eventually take over early down duties for the Titans, with Jeremy McNichols and Dontrell Hilliard serving as depth. Peterson, 36, will be a popular waiver-wire pickup this week after rushing for 604 yards on 156 attempts (3.9 yards per carry) in 16 games (10 starts) for the Detroit Lions last year. He could have RB2/3 fantasy value as soon as next Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams if he gets up to speed quickly. McNichols has only seven carries in eight games this year, but he's added 21 receptions for 203 yards and a touchdown, so he'll have appeal in PPR leagues.
