David Price Earns Rare Save On Thursday
David Price found himself in an unfamiliar position on Thursday night against the Colorado Rockies. Price was called upon in the ninth inning of the game to preserve a 7-5 lead for the team and he came through. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing two hits while striking out two. It was his first save since the 2008 ALCS and his first-ever regular season save. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated that he was planning to give his highest-leverage relievers a breather in the game, so don't expect to see Price unseating Kenley Jansen anytime soon. This was Price's fourth relief outing of the year. He's allowed 11 hits (including three home runs) and five earned runs over 5 2/3 innings. He isn't worth rostering in any fantasy leagues at this point.
