David Perron Hits A Third-Period Hat Trick
2 years agoDetroit Red Wings right wing David Perron produced a game-winning performance against the Penguins on Tuesday, turning a tied game into a comfortable 7-4 victory with a third-period hat trick. Detroit blew a 3-0 lead in the second period before Perron took over and became the first Red Wing since Henrik Zetterberg in 2015 to score three goals in the third frame. It's his eighth career hat trick and the first with Detroit. The veteran winger is now one of seven active players with hat tricks for at least three different teams. Perron has heated up as the season starts drawing to a close, producing six points across a five-game stretch. He has amassed 47 points in 73 games for the season overall.
