David Peralta On The Bench Against Lefty
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez. Peralta, who hits from the left side of the plate, will take a seat against a southpaw pitcher for the 13th time out of 15 times that the team has faced a left-hander on the mound. The 34-year-old veteran outfielder could also lose more playing time moving forward now that catcher Carson Kelly is back from the injured list, as Daulton Varsho is expected to see most of his playing time in the outfield now. Peralta is hitting .232/.304/.432 with eight home runs, 25 RBI and 16 runs scored on the season in 185 at-bats. Jordan Luplow is starting in left field and is batting leadoff on Sunday against Suarez, and he'll be worth a look as a DFS sleeper.
