David Hess Pitches Well In Start Thursday
7 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher David Hess turned in a solid performance in Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, taking a no-decision. The 24-year-old righty allowed one run on five hits, including a solo home run, and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings. Hess has pitched well in his rookie season, posting a 3.07 ERA with eight walks in 29 1/3 innings. However, his 16 strikeouts and six HRs allowed in that time leave something to be desired for prospective fantasy owners. Hess is worth a speculative look in deep leagues, but fantasy players in shallower leagues can find more productive options on the waiver wire. Hess is slated to face the Red Sox in his next matchup, who tagged him for five runs on eight hits in their first meeting.
