Cubs, Rockies Have Discussed Kris Bryant, Nolan Arenado Swap
5 years agoThe Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies have discussed a one-for-one trade that would send third baseman Kris Bryant to Colorado in exchange for Nolan Arenado. The Rockies would pay at least some of Arenado's salary ($234 million over the next seven years) in the proposed deal. Apparently Arenado would also love to play for the Cubs. Arenado has been vocal about his frustration with Colorado's front office and felt "disrespected" by the team. His huge contract would be tricky for the Cubs, however. With Bryant becoming a free agent after the 2021 season, his trade value has also increased. Both players are elite fantasy third basemen, with Arenado being the pricier of the two, especially if he remains in hitter-friendly Coors Field.
