Cowboys To Run The Ball More In 2023?
2 years agoDallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and previous offensive coordinator Kellen Moore had their differences in offensive philosophy, which is why the team parted ways with Moore after the 2022 season. "Kellen wants to light the scoreboard up. But I want to run the damn ball so I can rest my defense," McCarthy said. "I don't desire to be the No. 1 offense in the league. I want to be the No. 1 team in the league with a number of wins and a championship." Brian Schottenheimer is Dallas' new offensive coordinator, and it looks as though they'll lean more heavily on the ground game in 2023. It's bad news for quarterback Dak Prescott and top wideout CeeDee Lamb, but it will be good news for Tony Pollard if they can re-sign him in free agency.
