According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the New Jersey Devils have registered their interest in Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. "New Jersey has investigated it, they've had a conversation with Winnipeg," LeBrun said on Tuesday's edition of Insider Trading. He also noted that the Devils are one of the teams that Hellebuyck would be interested in signing an extension in a sign-and-trade deal. The American netminder has one year to go on his contract, and it has been reported that he isn't interested in staying in Winnipeg. On paper, the Devils and Hellebuyck seem a perfect match, as New Jersey's season fell apart in the playoffs due to poor goaltending, while Hellebuyck has proven himself as one of the top goalies in the league. However, LeBrun believes that Hellebuyck's contract demands of around $9.5 million per year are currently too pricey for the Devils.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
