Cody Bellinger Ready To Reverse Playoff Woes
5 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger will ride an MVP-worthy regular season into the team's first-round matchup against the Nationals on Thursday. Bellinger will enter postseason play with a career .172 batting average through 116 playoff at-bats, but the 24-year-old took his game to another level this season. Bellinger has shaken off a month of August that saw him hit .235 to slash .280/.379/.512 in September with nine extra-base hits and 14 runs batted in. Bellinger put up career numbers across the board this season, posting a 1.035 OPS with 47 home runs and 115 runs batted in. He will be a must-play Thursday at home, where 27 of his 47 round-trippers have come at Dodgers Stadium this season.
