Clarke Schmidt Set For First MLB Start Sunday
Clarke Schmidt is in line to make the first start of his big league career Sunday versus Miami. Schmidt, ranked as the club’s No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has appeared twice out of relief this season and allowed three hits, three walks and two runs in 2 ⅓ frames. His first start will also likely serve as an audition for a spot in the club’s playoff rotation, as the nature of the Division Series will force most clubs to utilize at least four starting pitchers. Schmidt figures to have a low DFS price tag, but has loads of upside for those eyeing offense-heavy lineups.
