Chris Olave 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Appealing Price But Buyer Beware
2024 was a disaster for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave. He was notably left out of New Orleans' scoring outburst at the beginning of the season. Then, just when he was getting on track, quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) went out with an abdominal injury. One week later, Olave sustained his first concussion, converting his lone target on 3% of snaps. The 24-year-old sat out the following week and returned with a big eight-catch, 107-yard performance on 14 targets, but suffered another concussion in the ensuing game and never took another snap. Though it's still the offseason, the turmoil hasn't quit for the Saints. The team announced Carr's issues with his shoulder, and he ultimately retired, leaving a hole in the Saints' lineup anyway. To fill the job, QBs Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, and second-round rookie Tyler Shough will compete, offering an uninspiring trio of field generals. Despite a ton of talent, the uncertainty around the Saints' offense and a lack of experience in the QB room undoubtedly lower his ceiling. The Ohio State product was once regarded as a rising asset and should still operate as the top option. Still, it's possible we don't see his best this year with New Orleans' offense in transition.
