2 years agoNew York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon (back) said that he plans to throw a bullpen session off a mound on Friday, a key next step in his recovery after a nagging back issue has delayed his rehab, which initially began with a left-forearm strain. The bullpen session will be the first time the 30-year-old southpaw has thrown off a mound since he had a cortisone injection for his back. Rodon will travel with the team on their road trip next week while he continues to rehab. Because he hasn't pitched at all in 2023, Rodon will need a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment before he joins New York's starting rotation.
