C.J. Cron Returns After Being Hit In The Head
3 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron (head) is back in the starting lineup on Friday after he was hit in the helmet by a pitch on Thursday. Cron was checked for a concussion but passed all the tests and is back at first base while hitting sixth against San Diego Padres spot-starter Reiss Knehr, who is making his major league debut. Cron has plenty of raw power (11 homers this year), but he won't be in the hitter-friendly environment of Coors Field this weekend, so it'll make him a much less attractive DFS option. In 120 plate appearances on the road this year, the 31-year-old is slashing an unattractive .208/.333/.287 with only two of his 11 home runs and 31 strikeouts. He'll be facing a rookie making his first start, but Cron is more of a fade on Friday.
