Texas Rangers outfielder Bubba Thompson (hand), the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has been put on the injured list in the minors with a fractured left hamate bone. He will require surgery and will be out for at least four weeks. The 20-year-old was hitting just .150 with no home runs and two RBI in 12 games for High-A Down East this year, but he impressed with a .289/.344/.446 slash line, eight home runs, 42 RBI and 32 stolen bases in 84 contests with Single-A Hickory in 2018. It'll be a while before Thompson is considered a threat for playing time in Texas.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
