Bryce Harper Playing First Base Friday
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder/designated hitter Bryce Harper (elbow) is playing first base for the first time in his career on Friday while hitting cleanup against Cleveland Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams. The Phillies teased late last week that Harper could be making his debut at the cold corner soon, and that day has finally come. Due to surgery on his right elbow in the offseason, the 30-year-old left-handed slugger has only served as the team's DH to this point. It remains to be seen if Harper will make enough starts at first to gain eligibility there in fantasy, but it's a good sign that his elbow is healing properly. For now, his fantasy managers just want to see more power, as he's hit just four homers in 234 at-bats in 2023.
