Browns, Myles Garrett Nearing Mega-Extension?
5 years agoThe Cleveland Browns and defensive end Myles Garrett are engaged in contract discussions, setting the stage for a potential mega-extension for the 2017 No. 1 overall pick, according to sources. Garrett still has two years left on his rookie deal after his fifth-year option was exercised, but the Browns have cornerback Denzel Ward, quarterback Baker Mayfield and running back Nick Chubb that they might need to pay in the coming years. Garrett served as six-game suspension for hitting Mason Rudolph with his own helmet, but he had 10 sacks in as many games before the suspension. He can do some serious pass-rushing damage over a full season as one of the most effective pass-rushers in the game. Garrett is a top-five IDP defensive lineman.
