Brandon Belt Placed On 10-Day IL, Danny Jansen Reinstated
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Brandon Belt (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 11. The team also reinstated catcher Danny Jansen (groin) from the 10-day IL, placed right-hander Adam Cimber on the paternity list, recalled infielder Ernie Clement and right-hander Bowden Francis from Triple-A Buffalo and optioned catcher Tyler Heineman to Buffalo. Belt was pulled out of Saturday's contest early due to a left-hamstring issue. Luckily, the MRI came back clean, and Belt isn't dealing with any structural damage. However, the team decided to take the cautious approach and give Belt some time off to recover. The 35-year-old is slashing .263/.378/.434 with four home runs and 16 RBI in 46 games this season.
