Bobby Brink Eager To Earn NHL Spot
1 year agoPhiladelphia Flyers winger Bobby Brink impressed at development camp last week and is eager to earn himself a spot on the roster for next season. The 2022 NCHC Player of the Year lost a large chunk of last season to hip surgery and featured only in the AHL, registering 12 goals and 28 points in 41 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, but he now feels ready to make a jump into the big league. "I think everyone's goal is to make the Flyers," said Brink. "No one's going in there trying to make the AHL team. My goal ... is to be an NHL player." The 22-year-old has already gotten a first taste of NHL action, having skated in 10 games for the Flyers at the end of the 2021-22. He failed to score but did have four assists. With Philadelphia in rebuild mode, the University of Denver product is well-placed to make a breakthrough.
