Blake Snell Up In The Air For Friday's Start
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Blake Snell (illness) is still struggling to get back to full strength after dealing with a non-COVID-19-related illness, and his scheduled start on Friday against the Colorado Rockies is up in the air. The 28-year-old left-hander has been a disappointment in his first year in San Diego with a 4.99 ERA and 44 walks in 70 1/3 inning pitched, and he's struggled to go deep into games consistently. In his first start off the injured list on Sunday, the southpaw tossed four shutout innings while walking four against the Philadelphia Phillies. Snell has pitched exceptionally better at Petco Park, but fantasy managers should be extremely wary of relying on him if he ends up making this start at less than 100 percent. He has failed to go five innings or more in nine of his 16 starts in 2021.
