New York Mets general manager Billy Eppler resigned from his position on Thursday, according to the team. It comes after David Stearns took over as the team's new president of baseball operations this week. "I wanted David to have a clean slate and that meant me stepping down," Eppler said in a statement. "I hope for nothing but the best for the entire Mets organization." The 48-year-old led the baseball operations in New York for less than two years after signing a four-year deal. He oversaw a 101-win team in 2022, but his offseason shopping spree last winter led to just 75 wins this year. Before joining the Mets, Eppler was the Los Angeles Angels' GM for five seasons and worked as an assistant GM for the New York Yankees for three years.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
