Austin Hays Goes Deep Twice To Halt A's Streak
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays hit two home runs (his first of the season) on Sunday to help beat the Oakland Athletics by a score of 8-1 to halt their 13-game winning streak. Hays went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, three RBI, one walk and one strikeout in the contest. He's now hitting .267 on the season with a .790 OPS. The 25-year-old also had two hits on Saturday, with both being singles. In 31 plate appearances so far in 2021, Hays has just one walk and 10 strikeouts for a 32.3 percent strikeout rate. Hopefully, his two-homer game on Sunday can ignite him moving forward, but until Hays lowers his strikeout numbers, he's one you can leave to the waiver wire in standard mixed leagues.
