Ottawa Senators defenseman Artem Zub (upper body) will miss his first game of the season Saturday versus Detroit. The Russian blue-liner was hit in the ear area by an Alex Ovechkin shot in Wednesday's meeting with Washington and will have to sit after enjoying an excellent start to the season. Zub has notched three points (one goal, two assists) in four games with eight hits, nine blocks, and a plus-three rating. He's meshed superbly with Jake Sanderson, who's also had an impressive start to the campaign with five points (two goals, three assists) in four games. Sanderson might slow down now with a new running mate, with Senators head coach D.J. Smith calling Zub's absence a "huge loss."--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
