Miami Marlins shortstop prospect Andrew Salas went 2-for-3 with his first professional home run on Thursday evening during their contest against Low-A Palm Beach. The 17-year-old is playing in his first professional campaign with Low-A after joining the Miami organization earlier in January. Even though he is just 17 years old, the infielder has held his own against professional competition. Through 72 total games, Salas has flashed strong speed upside, swiping 24 bags while posting an impressive .343 OPB. However, his power has yet to translate, given his age, as he has only tallied eight doubles, two triples, and just hit his first long ball on Thursday. Dynasty managers should continue to monitor his development as he will likely remain in the minor leagues for at least the next four seasons. However, he has already begun to showcase solid potential and could be viewed as a top prospect once he continues to mature and develop.--Andy SmithRead More News
