Andrelton Simmons Expected Back In June
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels manager Brad Ausmus said on Thursday that he expects shortstop Andrelton Simmons (ankle) to be back sometime this month, which would be only five or six weeks after he suffered a Grade 3 left ankle sprain. He's been running, taking ground balls and batting practice while he rehabs. Ausmus said Simmons is expected to face live pitching early next week, but not yet as part of a rehab assignment. Simmons was one of the team's better offensive players before his injury, hitting .298/.323/.415 with three homers, 22 runs, 21 RBI and five steals in 188 at-bats. He's not much of a power guy, but he can provide average and stolen bases in deeper mixed leagues.
