Alex Kirilloff 2021 Outlook: Ready to Exceed Expectations
4 years agoHad the pandemic not reared its ugly head in 2020, we very likely would have seen Kirilloff establish himself as an MLB hitter last year. On the bright side, fans can now eagerly anticipate the 2021 arrival of a player who should have an immediate impact on the Twins' offense. Like many top prospects in the upper levels of the minor leagues, Kirilloff spent the truncated 2020 season at his team's alternate training site and is a year removed from competitive games. However, we saw a number of top prospects benefit from the revamped development focus. The young outfielder will arrive in the Majors with a strong skill set that includes the ability to hit for above-average power. And while he can get too aggressive at times, Kirilloff makes consistent, hard contact and has consistently hit for a strong batting average throughout his career. He isn't a strong fielder but he has some versatility (OF, 1B, DH), which will help him find playing time with the Twins. Barring injury, Kirilloff should be one of the top rookie hitters in the American League in 2021 and represents great value with an ADP of around 242 if he gets the playing time he deserves.
