Jose Leclerc Undergoes Successful Shoulder Surgery
Jose Leclerc (lat) underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder on Wednesday. Leclerc will remain on the 60-day injured list and miss the remainder of 2025 before becoming a free agent. It'll go down as a lost season for Leclerc, who last pitched April 22, as well as a failed investment for the Athletics. They guaranteed Leclerc $10 million on a one-year deal, but he threw just nine innings of six-run, 13-hit ball with 8:5 K:BB before a lat strain forced him to the shelf. Although Leclerc tried to work his way back from the injury, it wasn't in the cards. It's unclear if he'll be ready for the start of next season. A Texas Ranger from 2016-24, the soon-to-be 32-year-old will return to free agency over the winter with a 3.34 ERA, 11.72 K/9, and 5.00 BB/9 across 369 1/3 career innings.
