1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Alec Burleson is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the Oakland Athletics and left-hander JP Sears. In his absence, Luken Baker will make the start at designated hitter and will bat eighth in the order against Sears. The 24-year-old left-handed-hitting Burleson will continue to sit against most southpaw, as he's currently hitting just .182 (4-for-22) against them with none of his eight home runs on the year. Overall, Burleson is slashing .244/.292/.413 with eight home runs, 15 doubles, a triple, 27 RBI and 27 runs scored in 264 plate appearances and 83 games in just his second season in the majors.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
