49ers Hire Klint Kubiak For Top Offensive Role
2 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers hired former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator and Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Klint Kubiak to a top role on head coach Kyle Shanahan's offensive staff on Thursday, according to sources. He'll be replacing Bobby Slowik, who became the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator. Kubiak's brother, Klay, is already San Fran's assistant quarterbacks coach, and both are sons of retired Super Bowl champion coach Gary Kubiak. In Klint's second stint with the Broncos in 2022, he took over play-calling duties midway through the season when the team fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett after a rough start. The 49ers have plenty of potential on offense, and quarterbacks Trey Lance and Brock Purdy (elbow) are expected to compete for the starting QB gig this summer.
