NFL QB Power Rankings: All 32 Starting Quarterbacks for Week 8 Football (2025)

Patrick Mahomes - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Quincy's NFL QB power rankings for Week 8 of the 2025 season. He ranks all 32 starting NFL quarterbacks before Week 8, from Patrick Mahomes to Cameron Ward.

The elite quarterbacks of the 2025 season are starting to separate themselves from the pack. Mainstays such as Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen are playing well. However, we are welcoming players such as Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and Daniel Jones to the big stage. It is a great year to be a reclamation quarterback in the NFL.

On the flip side, we are watching continual struggles from the young guns in the league. Cameron Ward continues to have issues on an inept team. Others, such as Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, and Jaxson Dart, have flashed signs of greatness, but they are very inconsistent. It is the same story in a different year. Overall, NFL quarterback play has been solid in 2025.

With the second half of the season nearly upon us, let's take a look at where each quarterback stands. Many quarterbacks thrive in the second half of the season. We have definitely not seen the best play from several quarterbacks. Let's dive in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings:

No. 32: Cameron Ward - Tennessee Titans

In his first game without former head coach Brian Callahan, Ward did not fare much better than he did over the first several weeks of the season. Ward is likely in for a difficult season in a Titans offense that does not have a lot of pieces in place to support him.

No. 31: Justin Fields - New York Jets

Justin Fields is clinging to the starting job by a thread. Frankly, he may not even be the starter come this weekend. Comments from owner Woody Johnson crossed the line with Fields this week.

No. 30: Dillon Gabriel - Cleveland Browns

Dillon Gabriel finally led the Browns to his first win as a starting quarterback in the NFL. Gabriel has performed well, playing with relative consistency over his three starts. However, he still has a long way to go.

No. 29: Geno Smith - Las Vegas Raiders

Geno Smith continues to play terribly for the Raiders. Las Vegas just got embarrassed by the Chiefs in Week 7. Smith is not looking like the stabilizing starter that the silver and black envisioned he would be.

No. 28: Spencer Rattler - New Orleans Saints

Spencer Rattler continues to play hard and solidly for the Saints. Nothing is translating to wins, but Rattler is putting himself on the map. Unfortunately, the Saints' likely draft position suggests that Rattler will not be their long-term option.

No. 27: J.J. McCarthy - Minnesota Vikings

J.J. McCarthy's return to the lineup is imminent. He will take over a Vikings team that has played solid football in his absence. However, backup quarterback Carson Wentz has not blown anyone's socks off.

No. 26: Joe Flacco - Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Flacco has provided hope to an otherwise disheartened Cincinnati fan base. He led the team to a huge win over the Steelers in Week 7, and he has a chance to put the team in a legitimate position to compete for the AFC North moving forward.

No. 25: Jaxson Dart - New York Giants

Dart played almost flawlessly until he didn't in Week 7. The Giants were boat racing the Broncos until Dart and New York's offense fell apart in the fourth quarter and could not close out the game. Dart made a couple of glaring rookie mistakes in the process.

No. 24: Tua Tagovailoa - Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa is in a tough spot with public relations right now. After a questionable press conference last week, Tagovailoa's own head coach went on to take a subtle dig at him later this week. Tagovailoa is not playing well, and the frustrations are boiling over in all types of ways.

No. 23: Andy Dalton - Carolina Panthers

Andy Dalton will be taking over in Carolina for a short spell while starter Young recovers from an injury he sustained in Week 7. Dalton has played well in Young's stead over the past three seasons. However, Young has played solid football this season and is subsequently harder to replace.

No. 22: Marcus Mariota - Washington Commanders

Marcus Mariota is taking over for an injured Jayden Daniels in Week 8. Early indications suggest that Daniels' hamstring injury is not serious, but this is a situation to watch nonetheless. Mariota is a capable backup.

No. 21: Kyler Murray - Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray and the Cardinals cannot buy a win right now. Murray continues to play like an average quarterback despite a solid structure around him.

No. 20: Michael Penix Jr. - Atlanta Falcons

Michael Penix Jr. has been among the most inconsistent young quarterbacks this season. He'll catch absolute fire for one game and go ice cold in the next. That is not uncommon for first-year starters, but the Falcons need him to find consistency because they are built to win now.

No. 19: C.J. Stroud - Houston Texans

Stroud has fallen from grace. He looks unsteady behind an offensive line that is opening the door for opposing defenders to enter the backfield. If the Texans cannot give Stroud more structure, they could ruin this young kid's career.

No. 18: Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars were embarrassed by the Rams in Week 7. This offense has serious problems. The Jaguars are not as good as their 4-3 record would suggest.

No. 17: Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams continues to put together more consistency with each passing week. He has the Bears sitting in a position to compete for a playoff spot over the second half of the season.

No. 16: Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers

Each week, it seems like Brock Purdy will play, but he continues to be ruled out. The consistent play of backup quarterback Mac Jones is likely making the decision to continually sit Purdy an easier one for the 49ers.

No. 15: Aaron Rodgers - Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers is holding up his end of the bargain for the Steelers. However, the defense is letting the 41-year-old down. Rodgers is playing as well as he has at any point since he was an MVP for the Packers.

No. 14: Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson appears poised to return in Week 8. After sitting out for two games and enjoying a bye week, Jackson should be well-rested. The Ravens need Jackson to help propel them towards the playoffs. Jackson will begin lower in the power rankings coming off of injury.

No. 13: Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert and the Chargers were stalled by the Colts in Week 7. Herbert continues to attempt to deliver Herculean efforts. However, the Chargers' offensive line issues are a lot to overcome.

No. 12: Bo Nix - Denver Broncos

Bo Nix just delivered a statement performance in Week 7 against a quality Giants defense. Nix led the Broncos to a 33-point fourth quarter to win the game. These types of wins give a young quarterback plenty of confidence.

No. 11: Jordan Love - Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love and the Packers nearly lost to the Cardinals in Week 7. However, the third-year starter was able to deliver in the clutch for this team. The Packers are still a step away from being a great team, but as long as Love can deliver down the stretch of games, this team will always have a chance.

No. 10: Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts delivered with a huge passing day in Week 7. He cracked 300 yards passing, and the Eagles' offense was incredibly explosive. If Hurts continues to play like this, the Eagles will be fine in 2025.

No. 9: Drake Maye - New England Patriots

Drake Maye is a stud. There is no doubt about it now. This kid is slinging the rock with the best of them this season. The Patriots will go as far as Maye can take them.

No. 8: Daniel Jones - Indianapolis Colts

Daniel Jones continues to play like he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Just like Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers said, it wasn't the quarterback.

No. 7: Sam Darnold - Seattle Seahawks

Darnold cracked a bit under pressure in Week 7. He turned the ball over in inexplicable fashion. Darnold has protected the ball pretty well overall this season, but Week 7 demonstrated some weaknesses for Darnold.

No. 6: Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford continues to deliver. Even without top wideout Puka Nacua in Week 7, Stafford still tossed four touchdown passes. With Stafford at the helm, the Rams have a chance for greatness this season.

No. 5: Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott has been playing unbelievable football this year. With CeeDee Lamb back in the lineup in Week 7, Prescott played even better than he had over the last couple of weeks. Prescott could end up being a legitimate MVP candidate this season.

No. 4: Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mayfield's hot streak finally ended in Week 7. With a plethora of weapons down, it was simply too much to overcome against a talented Lions team.

No. 3: Jared Goff - Detroit Lions

Jared Goff's services were not needed in a big Week 7 win over the Buccaneers. Goff was the perfect game manager. He continues to play his role with the Lions like a maestro.

No. 2: Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills

Allen enjoyed a bye in Week 7. He is likely coming back in Week 8 with a vengeance after a couple of down weeks.

No. 1: Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes looks like vintage Patrick Mahomes this season. With wide receiver Rashee Rice back in the lineup, these Chiefs look dangerous. Mahomes is entering the MVP conversation.
