NFL DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Raiders vs. Lions MNF Showdown

Jaymyr Gibbs - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS and Betting Picks

John's top NFL DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Raiders vs. Lions showdown slate on 10/30/2023. His Monday Night Football daily fantasy football advice.

Happy Monday, RotoBallers! We're back with another Monday Night Football showdown article! We have an interesting battle tonight, as the Las Vegas Raiders (3-4) head up north to take on the Lions (5-2). Both of these teams are coming in on the wrong side of blowouts, with the Raiders falling to Chicago while the Lions fell to Baltimore.

We have been pretty successful so far with these showdown slates and hopefully, that trend continues from last year into this year. Most of us started our fantasy journeys with football, so it's always nice when it comes around and it's always a shame for it to come to an end. Thanks to the advanced analytics of today, I'll do my best to provide you with as much in-depth analysis as possible regarding positional matchups and the like to help put some lunch money in your pocket. Let's make some coin this season gang, and let's get right to it.

I will be providing you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Raiders vs. Lions NFL DFS showdown slate on October 30. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. If you have any questions, you can follow me on Twitter/X @LucidMediaDFS and fire away, or sign up for a premium RotoBaller NFL package and chat with me and other NFL DFS analysts at any time you'd like!

MVP/Captain Plays

Jahmyr Gibbs - RB, $16,800 (DK), $15,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 50 rushing attempts, 247 rushing yards, 28 targets, 23 receptions, 128 receiving yards, one touchdown.
  • Projected Rush DVOA: 12.21%

I'll start things off with Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs projects among the top of the slate today while doing all things both through the air and on the ground. He projects to 65.29 rushing yards on 13.52 carries, as well as 4.45 receptions for 32.27 yards, and 0.97 touchdowns overall. This is an absolute beauty of a matchup for Gibbs, but it would've been an even better matchup if David Montgomery were playing in this one.

Amon-Ra St. Brown - WR, $10,800 (DK), $10,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 68 targets, 51 receptions, 557 receiving yards, three touchdowns.

I'll take a look at another Lion in the captain spot today with Amon-Ra St. Brown. St. Brown projects to 7.82 catches on 9.79 targets for 85.09 receiving yards and 0.53 touchdowns. He's coming off of a massive game where he caught 13 of his 19 targets for 102 yards. The matchup isn't great tonight, as the Raiders bring in a 7.15% DVOA against the WR1 position, but in an offense that funnels so much through him, he's definitely worth a shot at the 1.5x spot.

Note: He's currently dealing with an illness, so I'm a bit lower on him now. However, he's still a good play should he suit up, especially with potential lower ownership.

Other Captains/MVPs: Jared Goff, Jakobi Meyers, Sam LaPorta

DFS Flex Plays

Jakobi Meyers - WR, $12,000 (DK), $17,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 56 targets, 37 receptions, 385 receiving yards, five touchdowns.

I'll take a look for the WR2 on the other side of the field with Jakobi Meyers. Meyers has been impressive since joining the Raiders this season, despite the team not being so impressive around him as well as the quarterback "roulette" that's been going around in Vegas. Nevertheless, he has the strongest matchup in terms of DVOA when it comes to Raiders pass-catchers (17.22%). I don't think the Raiders be able to do a ton on offense frankly, but Meyers should be able to grab enough catches to be worth a spot in your lineups.

Sam LaPorta - TE, $6,600 (DK), $12,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 49 targets, 35 receptions, 377 receiving yards, three touchdowns.

I'll head back over to the Lions' side of things with Sam LaPorta. LaPorta has seen 18 targets over the last two games, and is really finding his form in his rookie season. He projects to 4.48 receptions on 6.48 targets for 48.15 receiving yards and 0.41 touchdowns. The Raiders bring in a 10.16% DVOA against tight ends, and while the Raiders rank in the upper half of the league in DvP against tight ends, I think LaPorta has a solid night.

Other Flex Options: Jared Goff, Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs

DFS Value Plays

Detroit Lions - D/ST, $5,000 (DK), $9,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 20.7 points per game allowed, 15 sacks, six interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and one defensive touchdown.

I feel like I have to mention the Lions' defense tonight. Sure, they're coming off of a game where they allowed 38 points to the Ravens, but the Ravens are like fire and ice when it comes to scoring. They'll get a much better matchup as Jimmy Garoppolo (projected 1.11 INT) should see a ton of pressure. As long as they're not getting beaten over the top they should be more than fine, and the Raiders project to a -25.75% offensive DVOA, which is quite some regression from their 30th-ranked -18.37% offensive DVOA.

Michael Mayer - TE, $4,000 (DK), $8,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 15 targets, 10 receptions, 129 receiving yards.

I'll wrap things up with a longshot play with Michael Mayer. Mayer has seen quite the uptick in targets over the last three weeks, logging 13 of them since Week 5 against Green Bay. Tonight, he projects to 2.53 receptions on 4.13 targets for 28.59 yards and 0.23 touchdowns. It's not much, and I'm not expecting much from him, to begin with, but considering I'll be heavy on the Detroit side of things tonight, Mayer provides a solid value play to run as the lone Raider.

Other Value Plays: Craig Reynolds, Riley Patterson, Daniel Carlson

Enjoy your week and good luck, everyone!
