BALLER MOVE: Stash in Deeper Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: Late 2024/Early 2025
ANALYSIS: Atlanta Braves' No. 6 prospect, Nacho Alvarez Jr., has quickly risen up the minor league ranks since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2022 MLB Draft. He hit .287 with one home and 11 RBI across rookie ball and Single-A in 2022 and then finished with a .284 average, seven HRs, and 66 RBI across 116 games at High-A in 2023.
Now, Alvarez is currently tearing it up at Triple-A Gwinnett. Since being promoted from Double-A to Triple-A on June 12, the 21-year-old shortstop is hitting .354 with five HRs, five doubles, and 17 RBI across just 19 games. He is absolutely unstoppable at the plate right now, totaling at least one hit in 15 of those 19 contests.

Despite MLB Pipeline predicting a 2025 debut for the young shortstop, Alvarez's recent surge at the plate could get him called up sooner. With Orlando Arcia also struggling in 2024, there's a chance the Braves give their No. 6 prospect an opportunity at some point in August/September. That's why the 21-year-old is worth a stash in deeper formats right now.
