MLB Hitter Cheat Sheet (4/27/16): Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Picks

You don't need an expert to tell you to play Nolan Arenado tonight against a weak left-handed pitcher at Coors. It is much more difficult, however, to sift through the cheap DFS options for the right value plays that can help you fit in the studs you want and put your lineup over the top.

That is the purpose of this article -- to provide you with the best value hitters available each day.

Today I'll be bringing you seven value hitters for MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball on FanDuel and DraftKings for April 27th, 2016. Let's get started!

DFS Hitters - Lineup Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings

1. Gregory Polanco, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates

FanDuel Price: $3,800; DraftKings Price: $4,900

Polanco and the Pirates are projected for the highest team total of the day, as Vegas has them in line for 5.6 runs tonight against right-hander Jon Gray.

Polanco has really stepped his game forward this season, and has been much better against right-handed pitching throughout his career.

In his career, Polanco has raised his slugging percentage from .258 against lefties to a robust .406 mark against righties. He's also seen improvement in his ISO, wOBA, walk rate, fly-ball rate, and hard-hit rate against righties, while striking out less often.

He is hard to pass on at Coors tonight, especially at his price on FanDuel.

2. Evan Longoria, 3B, Tampa Bay Rays

FanDuel Price: $3,000, DraftKings Price: $3,400

The Rays draw a matchup against Chris Tillman tonight, who is mistakenly thought of as an average pitcher. Tillman posted a 4.69 SIERA last season and was far from average against right-handed batters, allowing a .500 slugging percentage and .353 wOBA.

Longoria, a righty, has a career .333 batting average against Tillman, and has 7 home runs in 16 games. He is certainly worth a look at his discounted price tag.

3. Oswaldo Arcia, OF, Minnesota Twins

FanDuel Price: $2,800, DraftKings Price: $3,300

Oswaldo Arcia has played the role of a hero for the Twins this season, and should be hitting in the six-hole for Minnesota tonight against the right-handed Josh Tomlin, who has a career 4.08 SIERA

In his career, Arcia has launched 31 of his 37 homers against right-handed pitching, and his underlying numbers offer validity to those numbers.

Arcia has crushed righties throughout his career, but he's been especially dangerous at home, as evidenced by his splits chart below.

Oswaldo Arcia SLG ISO Hard% FB% wOBA
vs Left-Handed Pitching 0.346 0.112 29.0% 36.6% 0.275
vs Right-Handed Pitching 0.484 0.234 33.7% 43.3% 0.348
at Home vs Right-Handed Pitching 0.521 0.258 39.3% 43.7% 0.372

You'll be hard-pressed to find a player with this type of power potential for so cheap.

4. Jake Lamb, 3B, Arizona Diamondbacks

FanDuel Price: $2,800, DraftKings Price: $3,200

Lamb has found himself on the bench more often than not recently, with Arizona facing several left-handed pitchers. Tonight, the Diamondbacks face righty Adam Wainwright, though, so Lamb should be in the lineup and hitting near the top of the order.

Lamb has played quite well recently, with seven extra-base hits over his past six starts, during which he has averaged 17.5 FanDuel points.

Despite this, he can be had for just $2,800 tonight on FanDuel at relatively low ownership.

The matchup offers reason for optimism, too, as Wainwright has struggled mightily to start the year. Vegas has the Diamondbacks projected for 4.5 runs as a result.

Wainwright has struggled specifically with left-handers throughout his career. Lamb, a lefty, has posted improved splits against right-handed pitching in his career. He is a very appealing value play tonight.

5. Steven Vogt, C, Oakland Athletics

FanDuel Price: $2,600, DraftKings Price: $3,000

We liked Vogt against a weak right-hander yesterday, and he had a decent night at the plate -- going 1-for-4 with a double and a run.

Tonight, he gets another susceptible righty, in Justin Verlander. Verlander has much better stuff than Vogt's opponent yesterday, but he has struggled against lefties throughout his career.

Vogt, a lefty, has extreme splits against righties in his career. Hitting in the middle of a lineup projected for 4.3 runs tonight, Vogt is a terrific cheap option at catcher tonight.
