While Cowser made his big league debut, top prospects such as Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Landon Knack, Oswald Peraza, Matt Mervis, Dominic Canzone, Colt Keith, Grayson Rodriguez, and Ronny Mauricio patiently wait their turn for the call to the big leagues.

New York Yankees rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe has recently found his groove at the plate. The 22-year-old is slashing .432/.447/.703 with two home runs, three RBI, 10 runs, and a stolen base over his last 10 games. The Los Angeles Angels recalled Jo Adell from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday. He hit started in left field and hit cleanup, going 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Wednesday's loss to the Padres. Cincinnati Reds outfielder Will Benson is quietly hitting .385 (10-for-26) with three extra-base hits, three RBI, and three stolen bases over his last seven games. Alek Manoah, demoted in early June, will return to the big leagues on Friday against the Tigers.
