Mason Plumlee is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 15 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: With less than three weeks to go before we go through the February 9 trade deadline, the rumor mill is heating up and getting filled with headlines involving The Last Plumlee. It makes all of the sense, obviously, considering the Charlotte Hornets should be tanking to finish dead last in the standings while sending Mason Plumlee packing elsewhere in exchange for some fancy draft picks.
Plumlee has very well earned a chance at a title shot with a contending franchise this postseason--assuming he ends up getting traded away from the Hornets. He's putting up nightly double-doubles these days.
Just from New Year's Eve on, Plumlee has dub-dubbed in seven of his last 11 games through Saturday. In the four matchups he missed on it, he did so by no more than either three points or three rebounds, and always hit double figures in the alternative cat.
Don't expect any sort of floor-stretching when it comes to Plumlee because he's well past that. On the other hand, operating in the paint provides him with sky-high shooting percentages daily (66+ FG% through 46 games) while attempting a reasonable volume of shots for his profile of big boy (6.9 FGA).
Over the season, Plumlee is just a hair below a dub-dub average (11.8 PPG and 9.8 RPG) while being one of only four players hitting 65% or more of their field-goal attempts among those hoisting at least 6+ FGA per game. The other three: Rudy Gobert, Nicolas Claxton, and Brandon Clarke.
