Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 12 of the 2021 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 16+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 9% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: This is definitely just a move for those in the deepest of fantasy leagues. That's mostly because Marquez Vales-Scantling is Green Bay's WR3 and/or WR4 at the very best and prior to W11 he had topped at a 66% snap share while logging just five games played that now amount to six. MVS got to stay on the field for the second-most snaps this season (48) and a rather high 81% share, but that probably had more to do with Alan Lazard missing Sunday's match than anything else.
With that out of the way and knowing the context MVS finds himself in, Marquez should still be a kinda-viable play for those truly hurting for help at the position--and obviously, he's the next-man-up in the Packers receiving corps in the event of an injury to any other wideout. MVS put on a show against Minny going for a 10-4-123-1 line in a game that saw MVS score his second touchdown of the season. All things considered, MVS finished the day with 22.3 PPR points and a WR6 finish pending MNF.
MVS has only had another WR2 game this season: W3 against San Francisco when he reached 14.9 PPR points helped by a touchdown (4-3-59 receiving line). Marquez should command 2+ targets per game either starting or in relief duties, which is definitely low, but if the chance pops up for him to stay on the field for a larger share of snaps then he's a sound bet to get 8+ targets and some 3/4+ receptions in those occasions. Again, don't go chasing MVS but definitely consider him in really deep formats out there as a what-if flier ROS.
