Luke McCaffrey is a potential sleeper and value in 2024 fantasy football rookie drafts. Read the fantasy football outlook for the new Commanders wide receiver.
DRAFT PICK: 3rd Round (#100 Overall Pick)
TEAM: Washington Commanders
ROOKIE DRAFT ANALYSIS: Luke McCaffrey snuck into Day 2 of the draft as the last player selected in Round 3. He needs to refine his overall route running, but he has enough skills in the meantime to work as an effective slot receiver. Athleticism runs in the family. His father, Ed McCaffrey, and brother, Christian McCaffrey, both have experience playing in the league and will be great resources.

McCaffrey can eventually emerge as a PPR specialist in a few years if he can further hone his craft. Since he's still developing and Washington will be quarterbacked by rookie Jayden Daniels in 2024, expectations should be tempered in Year 1. Look for him to challenge Jahan Dotson for the WR2 role behind Terry McLaurin as soon as 2025. He projects as a late-third-round pick in single-QB rookie drafts.
