49ers running back (RB) Jeff Wilson Jr. is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 3 of the 2020 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: You might be wondering if I should be put in a mental health center. I know about it, you don't have to hide your thoughts. Now, bear with me and let me explain. San Francisco entered Week 2 with two very good and healthy players in their backfield: Raheem Mostert (25.1 PPR points in W1) and Tevin Coleman (3.4 but the clear RB2). They left the Jets stadium with exactly none of those two on the healthy department.
Now, you'll check the stats and see it was Jerick McKinnon and not Jeff Wilson Jr. who got the most of those two injured players missing time. McKinnon rushed the ball three times for 77 yards and a score, while Wilson could only carry it two times for a measly three-yard gain... The problem is that McKinnon racked up all of those yards mostly thanks to a 55-yard effort in a single carry. That's good and all, but not very reliable and prone to happen weekly.
Wilson was the one rusher taking the early-down snaps and work in the fourth quarter, and although his production was nothing to be proud of he only had five snaps to McKinnon's 13. Of course, this is a "what-the-heck" flier as big as there can be one, but if both Mostert and Coleman miss time, it looks like Wilson will turn into the early-down back with McKinnon taking on third-down duties. Add Wilson only if you are part of a mega-deep league, though, because the chances he put on a dud (or just isn't used at all) are still high.
