San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings hasn't been on the fantasy football radar often since being selected in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In 2023, he is an interesting waiver wire option ahead of Week 8.
He flashed in the Monday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings and since bye weeks and injuries are complicating start-or-sit decisions, he could have fantasy value moving forward.
Should you pick up Jennings ahead of Week 8? What's his fantasy football outlook? Let's dive in.

What Did Jauan Jennings Do Last Week?
Against the Minnesota Vikings, Jennings caught five of his nine targets for 54 yards. He was elevated to an enhanced role due to the absence of Deebo Samuel (shoulder). The 26-year-old saw more targets than George Kittle (seven) and Brandon Aiyuk (six).
It was a surprising development, but Brock Purdy clearly has some trust in Jennings. In this high-powered 49ers offense, that means something.
Jauan Jennings Waiver Wire Outlook for Week 8
Samuel is not expected to return in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals, so Jennings should have one more week of extra snaps and targets. However, the Bengals are a mid-level defense against fantasy wideouts to this point, while the Vikings are a bottom-seven defense against the position (fantasy points per game allowed). He'll have a much tougher road to production this time around.
Since Jennings has just 879 receiving yards and six touchdowns through his first 38 NFL games, he is far from a must-add option in traditional leagues. In 12-team leagues, he is best utilized as a low-end flex play.
In deeper formats, he's likely going to be in plenty of starting lineups since the options begin to become thin when there are 14 teams or more. Ultimately, his floor is low and his ceiling is limited playing alongside Kittle and Aiyuk, but there are fantasy managers who simply need any chance at production in their last flex spot. Jennings fits that profile in Week 8.
