Jared Goff is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for quarterbacks. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 16 of the 2021 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB/SuperFlex Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 7% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: I know you want to hate me for telling you about Jared Goff. About Jared Goff as a potential WW target entering the fantasy-postseason semifinal, even! But the truth is, if you're part of a slightly deep league or happen to be part of a 2QB format, then you should give Goff a very serious look because 1) he's available in virtually every league and 2) there aren't many QBs out there with more upside and playing better these days (with the bonus of manning a team that sucks, so he'll be throwing passes in bunches every week).

Goff has strung four games in which he's played to no lower than top-24 (QB2) levels. He finished QB18 in Week 12 and then QB7, QB22, and this past weekend QB7 (considering TNF/Sat./Sun. games). Goff has attempted 25+ passes in four consecutive games, completed 21+ in each of those, thrown for 215+ yards in the past three weeks, and gotten a touchdown minimum in each of the past for outings against just two INTs total.
While the fantasy points have fluctuated from around 13 to slightly above 20 in an up-and-down way of late, the truth is that through the 2021 season those two marks would rank Goff, indeed, into the QB2 and QB1 realm respectively weekly. That means that even if Goff plays to his current floor, he's a lock to be a top-24 play at the position and thus a fantastic start for those doing it and still alive in 2QB/SuperFlex formats. Even a middle-of-the-road fantasy-point tally (say, 16 FP) would most probably see Goff reach low-end QB1/high-end QB2 finishes ROS. That's something you can't pass on.
