Here are some of Pickens’ advanced metrics (courtesy of Fantasy Points Data Suite) since Wilson took over in Week 7:
- 41.3% Air Yards Share
- 26% Targets Per Route Run
- 3.37 Yards Per Route Run
These are strong marks and high scores in these metrics indicate a greater likelihood for big games. Pickens is finally being used in a true alpha receiver role, and it’s been great for his fantasy prospects. Pittsburgh has a tough division battle on tap this week against the Baltimore Ravens.
However, Baltimore’s secondary has been an area of weakness. They currently rank 25th in defensive passing DVOA per FTN Fantasy and allow the most PPR points per game to opposing receivers per Fantasy Football Today. This could be a great spot for a Pickens spike game.
With Wilson at quarterback, Pickens is locked in as a surefire WR1. Gamers should start him as such.
