ANALYSIS: Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton was one of the few bright spots in the Denver offense this weekend. Despite picking up the victory over the Tennessee Titans, the Broncos struggled to find much rhythm in the passing game. However, Sutton was still able to enjoy a productive season opener as he caught six of his nine targets for 61 yards and a touchdown.
During the second half of the 2024 campaign, Sutton played a key role in Bo Nix's breakout. Over the first 10 games of the campaign, Sutton averaged an impressive 18.2 PPR points per game. During this stretch, the veteran wideout saw 8.8 targets per game and caught 6.0 receptions per game.
This weekend, Sutton will face the Indianapolis Colts, who shut down the Miami Dolphins last weekend. Even though it appears to be a tough matchup on paper, given Sutton's high target share and usage as Nix's clear WR1, he carries a safe floor with WR2 upside in this matchup.
He should be started in all formats and push for a high-end WR2 value in PPR formats, given his ability to see nearly double-digit targets. The Broncos have yet to find a consistent No. 2 WR, which will only continue to raise the floor of Sutton's weekly projection each week.
