Frank Jackson(PG/SG NO) - Week 23 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add-In 14-Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 11% of leagues

ANALYSIS: Frank Jackson has been fabulous for the Pelicans over the last 10 days.

The Pelicans have known that the athletic 6-foot-3 rookie point guard was an explosive scorer as he demonstrated during his one year at Duke (2016-17) and a stint with the G-League's Texas Legends this year. He averaged 26.3 points on 50.6 percent shooting from the field in four games with the Legends.

But Jackson has shown that he is more than just a scorer recently. Since being re-inserted into the starting lineup on March 6 as a result of Jrue Holiday (abdominal strain) being sidelined once again, Jackson has shot the ball well and done a good job rebounding the ball. It would be nice, however, if the 20-year-old were a better distributor and defender.

The 2017 second-round draft pick has scored in double-figures in six straight games. Jackson is coming off a 14-point performance in Saturday's loss to the Suns, and while he was only 4-for-13 from the field, he did make three of his six three-point attempts after entering the game having missed nine straight attempts from beyond the arc. Jackson is averaging 14.3 points, four rebounds, and 1.7 triples while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from beyond the arc in March.

While it is unknown how long Holiday will remain out, fantasy owners should nab Jackson off the waiver wire if he is still available in your league.  Jackson has played well since the all-star break and is currently playing his best basketball of the season. Even if Holiday and E'Twaun Moore (quad) return soon, he should still have a major role in the Pelicans' rotation.
