Week 13 Running Back Rankings Outlooks
Devin Neal, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints running back Devin Neal (ankle) will not carry an injury designation into Week 13 and is "good to go" for his team's matchup on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, per Mike Triplett of New Orleans.Football. Neal was a limited practice participant on both Wednesday and Thursday due to the ankle issue, but was able to log a full session on Friday.
With veteran Saints back Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) officially ruled out for Week 13, Neal could have the chance to lead his team's backfield against Miami. Across seven games played this season, the rookie sixth-rounder has recorded 125 scrimmage yards on 29 touches. Neal did most of his work as a receiver in Week 12 after Kamara was forced to exit the game, hauling in five catches for 43 yards on seven targets. He profiles as a low-end fantasy RB2 in Week 13 against Miami.
Woody Marks, Houston Texans
Houston Texans running back Woody Marks will look to continue establishing himself as the team's top backfield option this week, as the Texans roll into Indianapolis to face the division-leading Colts. Marks has double-digit carries in six straight weeks since the team's bye week, and he had 74 yards on his 16 carries last week against the Bills, while playing 69% of the team's offensive snaps.
He didn't get into the end zone in that matchup, but he has four touchdowns on the season to go with his 422 rushing yards and 185 receiving yards. He has taken on more work over the last few weeks while Nick Chubb's role has decreased. This week against the Colts, Marks is the RB24 in RotoBaller's rankings, making him a low-end RB2 or strong flex play in this road matchup.
Kenneth Gainwell, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell delivered another productive performance in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears, posting 10 carries for 92 yards while adding six receptions (six targets) for 30 yards. Gainwell's receiving workload in recent weeks has made him a viable fantasy option in PPR leagues.
It's also been a consistent part of the former Philadelphia Eagle's scoring profile on the season, with four games of at least six receptions, tied with Bijan Robinson for the third most by a running back this season and only trailing De'Von Achane (five games) and Christian McCaffrey (nine).
The Pittsburgh backfield has essentially been an even split between Jaylen Warren and Gainwell over the past three weeks. Gainwell holds a slight edge in snap share at 54.7% compared to Warren's 41.9%, though it's worth noting Warren left Week 11 early with an ankle injury. Gainwell has maintained his role in the passing game and could be the preferred option moving forward between the two.
