Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions
Week 12 Quarterback Rankings: 10

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff posted three interceptions last week against the Chicago Bears, but he still delivered a decent fantasy performance with 236 passing yards and two touchdowns. However, he'll face a stingier secondary in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have surrendered the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season.

In the Week 4 matchup with Green Bay, Goff posted just 210 passing yards and one touchdown. The veteran is still likely worth starting due to the upside of his offense, but he could fail to meet expectations in this spot. The Packers have struggled mightily against the run, so there could be a heavy dose of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs on Thursday afternoon.

Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
Week 12 Quarterback Rankings: 9

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will take on the Seahawks in Seattle on Thanksgiving Night. In Week 11 versus Tampa Bay, Purdy had his second consecutive three-touchdown, zero-turnover performance. He appears to have turned the page after a disastrous three-game losing streak prior, in which he threw five second-half interceptions. In 2023, he's been a much better quarterback -- fantasy or otherwise -- when he isn't being asked to come from behind late.

Seattle's pass defense has been hit-or-miss. In a Week 10 home matchup against Washington, they allowed Sam Howell to put up 28.1 fantasy points, but last week in Los Angeles, they held Matthew Stafford to 10.4 points, although WR1 Cooper Kupp missed most of the game with an injury. Purdy checks into Week 12 with all of his weapons healthy as a decent starting option in all league sizes.

Sam Howell, QB, Washington Commanders
Week 12 Quarterback Rankings: 15

After a down week against the New York Giants, Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell has a much tougher matchup to take on. In Week 12, the Commanders will face the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys are owners of one of the most menacing defenses in the NFL, making this a shaky matchup for the second-year quarterback.

Dallas also allows the third-lowest percentage of opposing offensive scoring drives, suggesting that Washington may have few opportunities to put points on the board. Considering the rough matchup, Howell is a risky start in Week 12, and it'd be wise to look for other options.
