Fantasy Football Q&A Mailbag - Week 11

Your weekly fantasy football Q&A mailbag. Mike Dente answers your lineup and start/sit questions from Twitter to help you put together winning rosters for Week 11.

Week 10 of the 2018 NFL Season is in the books, and here is a quick fantasy recap to keep you up to date. Mitchell Trubisky continues to quietly dominate, as he led all quarterbacks with 36 points. The Chicago signal-caller now ranks sixth with 22.5 fantasy points per game. Welcome back, David Johnson! It may be too late for many owners, but DJ reminded everyone that he is still one of the premier running backs in the NFL, as he amassed 37.3 points in a vintage performance. Nick Chubb and Aaron Jones also produced top-five numbers and could be a common theme on championship teams down the stretch.

Just when you thought you could throw Allen Robinson on waivers, he comes out and puts up 31.3 fantasy points, second only to Tyreek Hill. Corey Davis also surprised with 25.5 points, while being targeted 10-plus times for the second-consecutive game. Lastly, at tight end it was Zach Ertz and then everyone else. Although, Eric Ebron's three touchdowns deserve a mention as well.

With Week 11 quickly approaching, it's time to dig into the RotoBaller Mailbag. I will be answering several of the best questions from Twitter each and every week. Thanks to everyone who sent theirs in for this edition!

Week 11 Reader Q&A

Before we get to the questions, here is a quick look at all of the upcoming games, as well as the current Vegas spreads and point totals:

  • Green Bay at Seattle (-3.0) - Total 49.0
  • Dallas at Atlanta (-3.0) - Total: 48.5
  • Cincinnati at Baltimore (N/A) - Total: N/A
  • Carolina (-4.5) at Detroit - Total: 49.5
  • Tennessee at Indianapolis (-1.5) - Total: 54.5
  • Tampa Bay at NY Giants (-1.5) - Total: 52.0
  • Houston (-3.0) at Washington - Total: 42.5
  • Pittsburgh (-5.5) at Jacksonville - Total: 46.5
  • Oakland at Arizona (-.5.0) - Total: 40.5
  • Indianapolis (-3.0) at Oakland  - Total: 49.5
  • Denver at LA Chargers (-7.0) - Total: 46.5
  • Philadelphia at New Orleans (-8.5) - Total: 56.0
  • Minnesota at Chicago (-2.5) - Total: 44.5

Mike's Take:

The Tennessee defense is allowing just 17.6 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, so Mack should sit in this scenario. I love Watkins' upside in a game with an over under total of 63.5, as there should be plenty of opportunity to go around. He is a definite option here, but keep in mind that he missed last week with a foot injury and even though he likely will play we simply don't know how healthy he is. My favorite play of the three is Marquez Valdes-Scantling. With Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison out, Valdes-Scantling should see plenty of targets as Rodgers' number two option in the passing game.

Mike's Take:

Reynolds is an intriguing sleeper this week and moving forward with Cooper Kupp done for the season. The second-year receiver shined, scoring two touchdowns while filling in for Kupp in Week 8. That kind of production will be possible on any given Sunday in Los Angeles' high-flying offense. Having said that, consistency will be an issue. Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods are the clear-cut top receivers, and you could make a case for Gurley seeing more targets out of the backfield well. Looking at your other receivers, Sutton is a must-start since he should see the most targets in a game that Denver could be playing from behind in from the start. Tyrell Williams should also get the start after scoring four touchdowns in his past four games, while adding two 100-yard performances during that span.

Mike's Take:

Great idea to look at this now and plan ahead. I found myself in a similar situation in several leagues. Out of those options I'm leaning towards Eli Manning going up against the 24th ranked Philadelphia pass defense. None of those quarterbacks are safe plays, but Manning has the best weapons in addition to one of the better matchups. Nick Mullens would be the secondary choice in a golden matchup versus a Tampa Bay defense that has surrendered 24.1 fantasy points per game.

Mike's Take:

If Flacco sits, the Bengals defense shoots to the top 10 at least in Week 11. Even if Flacco does play, you have to wonder just how healthy he is at this point. Minnesota ranks second in fantasy points per game with 9.1, compared to the Bengals' 6.3, which is 20th best in the NFL. Even though Chicago's offense has been lights out, it would not surprise me to see Mitchell Trubisky struggle against one of the better defenses in the league on Sunday night. If Flacco sits, the Bengals are the play, otherwise go with the second-ranked Minnesota defense.
