FanDuel TNF DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy Football for Week 9

Welcome to Week 9 of the 2019 NFL season. We kick this week off with a fun game in the University of Phoenix between the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. The 49ers are huge away favorites, sitting at -10 with a 43 total. The biggest news is both David Johnson and Chase Edmonds likely being out. There are plenty of different ways to go with this game and tournaments will be exciting. This may be a blowout, but it should be a fun showdown slate.

In this article, I will be providing you with daily fantasy football picks in FanDuel for Thursday Night Football on October 31, 2019 (Week 9). These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel.

If you have any questions you can follow me on Twitter @VarneyDFS and fire away. Now let's break this slate down and make some cash. Good luck RotoBallers!

DFS Quarterbacks - Week 9 Picks

Jimmy Garoppolo - SF (FanDuel $15,500 / DraftKings $10,400)

The 49ers are 10-point favorites in this game, so we may not see much of Jimmy G here. If the game goes according to plan, 15-20 pass attempts from Garroppolo is likely. With that being said, there is always a chance the Cardinals put up a couple of touchdowns at home and Garropolo gets to open it up against one of the worst pass defenses in the nation. On the season, they’re allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game at 277. Even in a blowout, I think Garoppolo throws a touchdown or two and over 200 yards. He may not be a great captain, but it’s hard to avoid him in a flex spot.

Kyler Murray - ARI (FanDuel $15,000 / DraftKings $9,800)

Kyler and the Cardinals are ten point underdogs at-home facing off with the best defense in football against the pass. The 49ers have allowed just 128 passing yards per game and average four sacks per game. The Cardinals offensive line has struggled and Bosa and crew are going to take advantage. There is always value in Kyler Murray in a GPP, but I would be careful tonight as he’s not overly cheap.

DFS Running Backs - Week 9 Picks

Tevin Coleman - SF (FanDuel $14,000 / DraftKings $9,000)

Coleman is my favorite captain on this showdown slate. He scored three touchdowns on just 11 carries last week, so the volume was unnecessary. In the three weeks prior, Coleman averaged 18 carries a game and two catches. The Cardinals 27th in football against the run and Coleman should have no issue running for 100 yards and finding the end zone. The upside is huge and he’s cheaper than the QBs. Coleman will be the captain in the majority of my lineups.

Kenyan Drake - ARI (FanDuel $11,500 / DraftKings $6,800)

With David Johnson and Chase Edmonds both looking like they’ll miss this game, Kenyan Drake is certainly in play. Even if we think this 49ers Defense suffocates the Cardinals, the offense is made to check down to the RB and Drake should still catch at least five balls. He’s a pretty good running back talent-wise and could certainly find the end zone if the Cardinals get into the red-zone. Drake is a better play than most are making him tonight.

Jeff Wilson Jr. - SF (FanDuel $5,000 / DraftKings $2,000)

If both Breida and Mostert are out, Jeff Wilson Jr. will get some run and could have a big night. The Niners haven’t shown a want to ruin their running backs and I don’t think it’s necessary for Coleman to go over 20 carries in this match-up. That could leave 8-10 for Wilson Jr. and he could do a ton against this rush defense. Make sure both Breida and Mostert are out before deploying Wilson Jr. as a salary saver.

DFS Wide Receivers - Week 9 Picks

Emmanuel Sanders - SF (FanDuel $11,000 / DraftKings $8,600)

Sanders caught four of five targets for 25 yards and a touchdown against the Panthers in his 49ers’ debut. It wasn’t the easiest match-up, so we may see more of a coming-out party in this game. It’s hard to know how much the Niners will pass, but I expect Garoppolo to home in on Kittle and Sanders when he does drop back.

Christian Kirk - ARI (FanDuel $11,5000 / DraftKings $7,200)

Kirk was injured for a few weeks, but jumped right back into the mix with him targets against the Saints. Murray clearly prefers Kirk over Fitzgerald and they may be throwing from behind all game here. I highly doubt the Niners allow a huge play to Kirk, but seven or eight short catches can turn into 60 yards and a touchdown. If I’m playing a pass catcher on the Cardinals, it’s certainly Christian Kirk.

Deebo Samuel - SF (FanDuel $9,500 / DraftKings $5,200)

I don’t love this spot for Deebo Samuel, but there’s GPP upside. I just think Jimmy G will be focused on Sanders and Kittle and Samuel May not be necessary in such a cupcake match-up. If he fits as your last piece, fine. Just don’t change your lineup around for Deebo Samuel.

Larry Fitzgerald - ARI (FanDuel $8,500 / DraftKings $7,000)

If the 49ers focus on taking away Christian Kirk, Larry Fitzgerald could have a big day. He’s a forgotten man in the eyes of Kyler Murray, and you know that has to change at some point. Fitzgerald is still a solid target when thrown to and will always be a red-zone threat. He’s cheap and I think you can do worse at his price.

DFS Tight Ends - Week 9 Picks

George Kittle - SF (FanDuel $13,500 / DraftKings $9,200)

What is said for Jimmy G also goes for Kittle. The match-up is tremendous, but it’s hard to see the Niners throwing all that much. They should be able to do damage on the ground and take the foot off the pedal with 20-25 safe throws. Kittle should grab five or six catches and is always a threat to score. I prefer him over Sanders if I can only pick one.

Charles Clay - ARI (FanDuel $6,500 / DraftKings $2,800)

Clay only caught three balls last week, but he finished with 88 yards. He’s always been a great pass-catching TE and Murray could look to him more against the tough pass rush. Clay isn’t the worst value play on a tough showdown slate.
