FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (3/21/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

luka doncic NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 3/21/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Happy Sunday, everyone. After an abbreviated five-game slate on Saturday, the league features a packed schedule to close out the weekend. While FanDuel’s “Main Slate” starts at 7 pm (eastern), four games will reserve the matinee slot for those interested in participating in some late-swap action.

Saturday’s small schedule still had plenty of noteworthy takeaways. LeBron James suffered a high-ankle sprain during the matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. Some reports suggest he will be out six to eight weeks. However, other outlets indicate that there is no timetable for his return. Luckily for both Lakers’ fans and fantasy managers, “The King” is superhuman, so a premature bounce back shouldn’t surprise anyone.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/21/21. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out DraftKings lineup picks and injury news before lineups lock. Good luck, RotoBallers. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DennisMClausen and say hello.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Russell Westbrook, PG - @ BKN ($11,100)

Just when many were writing Westbrook off, he has been playing at an MVP level lately, so much so that his DFS rostering cost is back above $11,000, a price tag reminiscent of his routine triple-double days in OKC.

The veteran is averaging 28.6 points, 12 assists, and 8.6 rebounds in March. He also has 2.1 steals to sweeten the pot. While the 2020-2021 Brooklyn Nets is one of the best teams ever assembled on the scoring end, the team lacks in defensive efficiency. Look for Westbrook to potentially get it done once again in a fast-paced matchup, although hitting value will be a challenge.

Dennis Schroder, PG - @ PHO ($6,100)

Not only has the Lakers been without Anthony Davis, but it will also now be without LeBron for the foreseeable future. Although the team should still make the postseason, others will need to step up to retain a firm grasp on one of the top seeds.

Schroder automatically comes to mind when fantasy managers begin thinking about potential benefactors of James’ unfortunate injury. He played 35 minutes against the Hawks and took a team-high 15 shots in the process. While we sometimes like to avoid popular options during larger GPP contests, there may not be a way around it as omitting him from lineups may be a huge mistake, at least if you're looking to win.

Alec Burks, SG - vs. PHI ($4,900)

The Knicks are dealing with a slew of injuries. Derrick Rose and Austin Rivers won’t be available on Sunday. Mitchell Robinson may start practicing soon, and Immanuel Quickley and Elfrid Payton are on the fence.

If Quickly and Payton aren’t able to suit up against the Sixers, Burks will likely be spending some more time on the floor. Reggie Bullock will likely draw the start, no surprise there, but Burks is the one to target. During the team’s last matchup against the Orlando Magic, the veteran had a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double. Keep an eye on the injury report and plan accordingly.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Tobias Harris, PF - @ NYK ($8,300)

Joel Embiid is out for the next few weeks (at least) while dealing with a knee issue and Seth Curry won’t play on Sunday after hurting his ankle against Milwaukee on Wednesday. To make matters worse, Ben Simmons was a late scratch on Saturday night with knee soreness, and if he doesn’t play again on Sunday, the Sixers will be down three of its top scoring threats.

Luckily, Harris is still available to help soften the blow. He had a fantastic performance against the visiting Sacramento Kings, finishing with 60.2 fantasy points by way of 29 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. He has hit at least 42.8 fantasy points in each of his last two games, and to make things better, his rostering cost hasn’t changed much. Make sure he is in your lineup, especially in cash formats.

Danny Green, SF - @ NYK ($4,600)

Just as in Tobias Harris’ case, Danny Green should get plenty of run on Sunday without Joel Embiid, Seth Curry, and potentially Ben Simmons.

While he won’t probably won’t take as many shots as Tobias Harris, he is a more accurate shooter (at times). On Saturday against Sacramento, he had 18 points, thanks in part, to his 4-for-6 shooting effort from behind the three-point line. He also had three steals, and while he won’t do much outside of that, his $4,600 price tag is too good to ignore, especially on a slate where acquiring the services of Russell Westbrook, Luka Doncic, and Damian Lillard will cost you north of $10,000.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Montrezl Harrell, C - @ PHO ($7,000)

We already established that Dennis Schroder should be the No. 1 scoring option for the Lakers until both A.D. and LeBron return. However, Harrell is another guy who fantasy managers should be paying attention to.

Without those guys on the floor, the 27-year-old actually leads the team with a 6.1% increase in usage and a raise of 12.2 in +/- differential. Like Schroder, Harrell also looked good against Atlanta on Sunday, logging 33 minutes and going 10-for-13 from the field. The 11 rebounds that he had to give him a double-double were also a nice touch.
