FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/21/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 2/21/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

As the weekend, unfortunately, comes to a close, FanDuel has seven games on its “Main Slate,” which will help open things up a bit more after only five contests took place on Saturday. While the schedule was limited, we were still treated to some strong fantasy outings from many. In Portland, Damian Lillard came through once again, posting over 60 fantasy points during the loss to the Washington Wizards. Zach LaVine continues to establish himself as one of the best players in the league after dumping nearly 40 points on the Sacramento Kings. Russell Westbrook had another triple-double, Bradley Beal had 37 points, and Marvin Bagley III took advantage of some additional opportunities while filling in for Richaun Holmes.

As usual, there are some injuries to consider before setting your lineups. Kyle Lowry is doubtful with a thumb injury, Ben Simmons will likely play after battling the flu, and Kevin Durant will remain out while working his way back from a hamstring injury.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/21/21. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out DraftKings lineup picks and injury news before lineups lock. Good luck, RotoBallers. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DennisMClausen and say hello. Also, be sure to check back closer to opening tip for article updates.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Fred Vanvleet, SG - vs. PHI ($8,000)

According to head coach Nick Nurse, Kyle Lowry was initially slated to miss the team’s next two games after suffering a thumb injury. However, it came as somewhat of a surprise when he was labeled as questionable on the league’s official report on Saturday night. Now listed as doubtful, the veteran will likely be out of the lineup against the 76ers, which will once again move VanVleet to the one.

With Lowry out of the mix, VanVleet will get a 3.2% increase in usage while also benefiting from an increase of 2.3 in the +/- category. He has nearly 35 fantasy points against Minnesota a few nights ago and could easily hit his value since he will have the ball in his hands more often on Sunday night.

Norman Powell, SG - vs. PHI ($6,500)

Powell will also benefit from the potential absence of Kyle Lowry. Like Fred VanVleet, the veteran will also get an uptick in both usage and +/- differential.

He came to play a few nights ago against the Minnesota Timberwolves, logging 38 minutes and finishing with 31 points on 10-for-19 shooting from the field and 6-for-10 shooting from deep. While he will be a popular option for many, he is someone you don’t want to ignore.

Also Consider: Trae Young ($9,200), Kyrie Irving ($8,800), De’Aaron Fox ($7,800), Darius Garland ($5,900), Dennis Smith Jr. ($4,600-GPP only), Michael Carter-Williams ($4,500), Facundo Campazzo ($4,200), Monte Morris ($4,100), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($7,800), Tyrese Haliburton ($5,400), Donte Divincenzo ($5,200), Cam Reddish ($4,500),

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Michael Porter Jr., SF - @ ATL ($5,700)

Porter is starting to come to life in his second year in the league. Not too long ago, he was projected to be a No. 1 overall pick. However, after medical concerns, he found himself falling to Denver at No. 14 in the 2018 NBA Draft. He logged only 55 games during his rookie season but appears to be on track toward becoming a regular in the Nuggets’ rotation.

The 22-year-old is averaging 14.1 points, 6.2 boards, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks during the 2021 campaign. With Paul Millsap, JaMychal Green, and Gary Harris out of the mix, there will be some additional minutes up for grabs. He plays a little better when he starts too, so fantasy managers will want to keep him on the radar, especially with so many costly DFS options to pay up for.

Cedi Osman, SF - vs. OKC ($5,400)

The Cavaliers have some significant issues up front as of late. Andre Drummond hasn’t played and likely won’t until he finds a new team. Kevin Love hasn’t suited up since the start of the year after injuring his calf, Larry Nance is out for a while with a finger injury, and his replacement, Taurean Prince, is dealing with a sprained ankle.

With those minutes up for grabs, Osman has been thrust into the starting rotation. He is averaging over 30 minutes in each of his last two games and has hit at least 30.7 fantasy points during that same span. The ceiling is high, so fantasy managers should keep him in mind.

Also Consider: Khris Middleton ($7,200), Will Barton ($5,200), Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,300), Julius Randle ($8,800), Jerami Grant ($7,600), Marvin Bagley III ($5,400), Nerlens Noel ($5,300),

FanDuel DFS Centers

Jarrett Allen, C - vs. OK ($7,400)

Allen has benefited since being dealt by the Nets and with Andre Drummond not playing. In Brooklyn, he often had to split time with DeAndre Jordan, so his output was capped more often than not.

However, since arriving in Cleveland, he is beginning to emerge as one of the most promising centers in the league. He has hit at least 34 fantasy points in four of his previous five games, with his latest game seeing the 22-year-old rack up a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double against the Denver Nuggets.

Also Consider: Nikola Jokic ($10,600), Nikola Vucevic ($9,700)
