Daily Fantasy Leagues - Fanduel Lineup Picks (4/30)

Update: NYM vs. PHI, TB vs. BOS, SEA vs. NYY, PIT vs. BAL are all cancelled today due to weather. Be sure to check your MLB daily league lineups and adjust as needed.

Tim Hudson SP / SF ($6,900) - Coming into the 2014 regular season at 38 years of age and with 205 career victories, one would think that Hudson would be in for at least a slight decline. However, the three-time All-Star has apparently located the proverbial “Fountain of Youth” in the spacious, pitcher-friendly confines of San Francisco’s AT&T Park. Hudson has had a brilliant April, posting a 3-1 record with a 2.19 ERA over five starts. Even more impressive, the veteran sinkerballer currently holds an outstanding 0.78 WHIP and a 25-to-2 K/BB ratio while working at least seven innings every time out. Needless to say, Hudson is more than living up to the two-year, $23 million contract the Giants handed him back in November. The wily right-hander will look to stay the course versus the Padres Wednesday night.

Matt Adams St Louis Cardinals MLB NewsMatt Adams 1B / STL ($2,700) - Most fantasy baseball managers know the “small sample size” cliche. Although in the case of Adams versus Milwaukee’s Matt Garza, a player with massive power potential picking up five hits in six at-bats against a certain pitcher is more than noteworthy. The Cardinals’ first baseman has yet to find the slugging stroke that belted 17 long balls in just 319 plate appearances last season, but he's hitting .327 with nine doubles so far on the campaign, and he should make for a solid value at this price.

Brayan Pena C / CIN ($2,500) - Filling in behind the plate for the injured Devin Mesoraco, Pena has gone 3-for-8 with a double over the last two games for the Reds. The switch-hitting catcher is batting .302 overall in 15 games this season, with four extra-base hits and a couple of stolen bases. Add that solid production with his career numbers against today’s opposing hurler,  and Pena could certainly be in for a nice day in the box. The 32-year-old veteran is 4-for-9 with a home run in his career when facing off with the Cubs’ Edwin Jackson.

Danny Espinosa 2B / WAS ($2,900) - The Nationals will take their hacks against Astros’ southpaw Brett Oberholtzer this evening in Houston’s homer-happy Minute Maid Park. That means Espinosa should be swinging from his stronger side at least once or twice. As it does for all right-handed hitters, that will open up the short porch “Crawford Boxes” above the left field wall to the switch-hitting second baseman. Espinosa does have a very inviting power/speed skill set that should not be forgotten. From 2011-12, the once highly touted prospect put together a combined 38 home runs and 37 steals.
