FAAB Auction Bidding: Week 13 Waiver Wire Targets

Max Petrie FAAB auction bidding prices for Week 13 fantasy football waiver wire targets. Many leagues in 2016 use auction FAAB bidding for waivers, this is your guide.

We've made it. In the majority of fantasy leagues, Week 13 serves as the finale of the regular season. Some of you may have already clinched a playoff berth, while others may be looking ahead to 2017. For the rest of us, this is a must-win week to clinch those precious playoff berths and keep the season going.

Welcome to Week 13 of the fantasy season, and my column on recommended FAAB auction bidding for Week 13's waiver wire. Plenty of big names went down in Week 12. Rob Gronkowski (back), Jordan Reed (shoulder), Tyrell Williams (shoulder), T.Y. Hilton (back), John Brown (hamstring), Lamar Miller (ankle) and Chris Ivory (hamstring) all went down.

Let’s look around the league at who is worth a bid going into Week 13. Each price recommendation will be based on a $100 FAAB budget. Be sure to also check out our weekly waiver wire analysis columns, with in-depth analysis for all Week 13 options.

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Running Backs

Let me start by saying this is not the week to be seeking a RB-replacement via free agency. If your trade deadline has not passed, seek a trade before investing in the below.

Derrick Henry (TEN, RB) - $8-12

60owned in Fleaflicker

The Titans have an embarrassment of riches in the backfield, with the DeMarco Murray-Derrick Henry combo ranking third in the league in rushing yards. Henry exhibited his mass potential in Week 12, rushing eight times for 60 yards and a score. He delivered punishing blows a week after not seeing a single carry. The Titans have mentioned using Henry is more short-yardage situations, which is wise given Murray's foot issues. As the Titans have to secure the AFC South, they will need a fresh Murray come playoff time and need to utilize the rookie more extensively. Henry is no more than a handcuff at this point in the season (plus Titans are on bye), but he'd be a top-10 play should Murray need rest.

T.J. Yeldon (JAC, RB) - $4-6

15% owned in Fleaflicker

I feel as gross about this as you do. The running back market is slim, so touches are at a premium. Chris Ivory left Week 12 with a hamstring injury and is questionable for this Sunday versus Denver. Should Yeldon get the start, he gets a Broncos defense ranked 25th versus the run and is allowing 50 receiving yards per game to running backs. Yeldon is a FLEX play only if Ivory sits.

Bilal Powell (NYJ, RB) - $6-10

50% owned in Fleaflicker

The Jets running game as a whole has disappointed in the past month, but Powell has been more useful than his counterpart Matt Forte. Powell rushed eight times for 36 yards (Forte was 13-27) and saw three targets in the passing game. As the Jets find themselves out of playoff contention they may seek to limit the workload on Forte's knees, allowing Powell to see a heavier usage. Next up is the Colts who rank dead last versus backs in the passing game, making this a great opportunity for Powell to bust out.

Also Consider: Denard Robinson (JAC, RB) - $1 ; Duke Johnson, Jr. (CLE, RB) - $1 ; Rex Burkhead (CIN, RB ) - $1

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Wide Receivers

We've been on the Tyreek Hill ($15) train for weeks here so I won't beat a dead horse. If you missed out, he is the No. 1 option. Dorial Green-Beckham ($10) was highlighted last week and is the No. 2 option.

Dontrelle Inman (SD, WR) - FAAB Bid: $8-10

38% owned in Fleaflicker

On a day many expected Travis Benjamin to take back the No. 1 duties from Tyrell Williams, it was Inman who stepped up. He caught all six targets for 119 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown was a 52-yard play on a well executed route by Inman. Williams (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday, and should he miss the contest Inman would become a WR2 play versus a questionable Buccaneers secondary. Should Williams play, Inman is a FLEX option but difficult to trust given Benjamin's return.

Marquess Wilson (CHI, WR) - FAAB Bid: $4-7

3% owned in Fleaflicker

It's funny how football works. I was high on Wilson when Jay Cutler was at quarterback given their Vanderbilt connect, but once Matt Barkley entered I backed off. Cue up Wilson's monster Sunday, catching 8-of-11 targets for 125 yards and a touchdown. He saw more targets than Cameron Meredith (9) and was Barkley's preferred option in the passing game. Wilson has always had the ability, but injuries and depth issues have blocked his path. He's a WR3 in his date with the 49ers Sunday.

Malcolm Mitchell (NE, WR) - FAAB Bid: $3-5

11% owned in Fleaflicker

It's time we start taking the Georgia wideout serious. He followed up his breakout Week 11 performance with another solid outing, catching 5-of-7 targets for 45 yards and two touchdowns. That included the game winner on an out-route versus Darrelle Revis, which used to mean something. Mitchell only saw 47% of the offensive snaps, so don't go crazy here, but he's developed a role in the Patriots offense and given the injuries at tight end should continue to see opportunities. He's a FLEX consideration versus the Rams.

Taylor Gabriel (ATL, WR) - FAAB Bid: $6-8

10% owned in Fleaflicker

It's tough to watch Gabriel play and not have fun. His electric speed has been put to good use in Atlanta, exhibited his line Sunday (4-75-2). He now has a touchdown in four straight contests and five in the span. The Falcons are feeding Gabriel via bubble screens and post routes, situations that allow Gabriel to use his speed in the open field. Next up is the Chiefs, a poor matchup for Gabriel. Gabriel is big-play dependent, but for now the Falcons continue to give him those chances.

Also Consider:  Ted Ginn Jr. (CAR, WR) - $3 ; Quincy Enunwa (NYJ, WR) - $2 ; Kenny Stills (MIA, WR) - $1

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Tight Ends

Jermaine Gresham (ARI, TE) - FAAB Bid: $2-3

3% owned in Fleaflicker

Gresham is the definition of a touchdown-dependent play, but he has scored in consecutive games and the Redskins have allowed 75 yards to tight ends this year, 31st in football. With John Brown and Michael Floyd ailing, Gresham saw 10 targets on Sunday and should continue to see usage going forward.

Coby Fleener (NO, TE) - FAAB Bid: $1-2

83% owned in Fleaflicker

Fleener is more readily available in other formats, and for good reason. He's only eclipsed double-digit points twice in PPR formats and hasn't done that since Week 6 versus Carolina. However, the tight end pool is aridly dry and the Lions rank 27th versus tight ends. It's another home game for Fleener, so give him a whirl if times are tough.

Also Consider: Hunter Henry (SD, TE) - FAAB Bid: $1

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Quarterbacks

Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB, NYJ) - FAAB Bid: $3-5

37% owned in Fleaflicker

Back from the dead, everyone's favorite player from Harvard returned to the lineup in the Jets 22-17 loss. Fitzpatrick completed 22-of-32 for 269 yards and two touchdowns, which looks good on paper but in reality Fitzpatrick had numerous errant throws and a sack-fumble to end the game. He's never going to be a good real life quarterback, but he can be a useful fantasy quarterback. Next up is the Colts who rank 29th versus the pass and just got scorched by Antonio Brown. Look for Brandon Marshall to light it up in this juicy matchup for Fitzpatrick.

Matt Barkley (QB, MIA) - FAAB Bid: $1-2

3% owned in Fleaflicker

If you thought your season may come down to Matt Barkley in August, I'll take two of whatever you're having. Barkley has found himself as the starter for presumably the rest of the season in Chicago and was serviceable in his debut. Barkley completed 28-of-54 passes for 316 yards and three touchdowns along with two interceptions. The majority came in garbage time as the Bears found themselves down 27-7.

In the end Barkley was let down by his receivers, but he showed enough to exhibit fantasy value. He gets the 49ers next who are 21st versus the pass and lost Eric Reid for the year. Obviously Barkley is a QB2 this week, but if the pickings are slim give it a shot. Plus you get to give your friends crap for losing to Matt Barkley.

Also Consider: Jared Goff (LA, QB) - FAAB Bid: $1

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Defense

Packers D/ST - FAAB Bid: $2-4

44% owned in Fleaflicker

A home date versus Brock Osweiler is always worth considering. Throw in a banged up Lamar Miller and you have the makings of a blowout. The Packers have four interceptions in their past two home games and should continue that success Sunday.

Steelers D/ST - FAAB Bid: $1-3

45% owned in Fleaflicker

The Steelers find themselves tied atop the AFC North and hosting a hot Giants team that's won six straight. Yet the Giants still have issues running the ball while the Steelers rank 11th versus the run. Look for the Steelers to put pressure on Eli Manning and keep pace in the AFC North on Sunday.
